Question 1

1. Can I put DDR4 Memory in a B650 motherboard?

Accepted Answer

No, the whole AM5 / B650 lineup of motherboards only takes DDR5. So if you have DDR4 and want to keep using it, then you must find a B760 board that has DDR4 support, like the MSI PRO H610M-S WIFI DDR4 (7,970) available at ModxComputers.

Question 2

2. Should I go for B650 or B760 in 2026?

Accepted Answer

If you decide to build an entirely new AMD system with the hope that your platform lasts a very long time, and using DDR5 is very important to you from day one, then go for B650. However, B760 would be a good choice for you in case you are already in possession of an Intel 12th/13th Gen CPU, and/or if your preference goes to DDR4. Both boards are great; really, the only factor for the choice is which CPU ecosystem you want to go with.

Question 3

3. What is LGA 1851 and which motherboards support it?

Accepted Answer

Intel's new socket LGA 1851 supports the Arrow Lake (Core Ultra 200 15th Gen) processors. ModxComputers has the Gigabyte B860M K priced at 10,264 which is the most affordable LGA 1851 motherboard at present.

Question 4

4. Is AM5 worth it for a 2026 PC build?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in particular if you are making a completely new system. AMD's platform of choice is AM5 through 2027 at least, so even the motherboard that you get today will work with future Ryzen CPUs. It is DDR5 only, so you should probably account for that in your budget. Then again, if a multi-year building is your plan, the investment will give you profit.

Question 5

5. Which is the best budget motherboard under ₹10,000 in 2026?

Accepted Answer

MSI PRO B760M-E DDR5 (₹8,968) and Gigabyte B650M Gaming WIFI (₹9,965) are the two best options under 10,000 for Intel and AMD, respectively, in 2026. Both come with DDR5 support and good manufacturing quality at this low price.
